My name is Mart Kerr. Ever since I was a little girl I have been a big fan of The Beatles and played their records and this is where my curiosity rooted for the English language. When I was eighteen I moved to London and took The Cambridge First Certificate and Proficiency Exam and after living in the UK for a few years I moved back to Holland.
After raising three children, in 2005 I completed CELTA in Amsterdam (Certificate English Language Teaching to Adults). Before completing CELTA I worked at a private institute in Hilversum helping dyslexic children to improve their reading and writing in Dutch which was very rewarding, for both parties.
I noticed when one gets the right support, it is not just receptive and productive skills that get boosted, students gain self-confidence which contributes to their overall well being which results in better performances. Mind Your Language offers a safe, quiet place, where pupils get my 100% undivided attention. At Mind Your Language there is always room for a specific school assignment like writing a book report or formal letter.
